Bits are simpler than most creator monetization, there's no percentage cut taken from your payout the way there is with ad revenue or subscriptions. Here's exactly how the math works.
Every Bit cheered in chat pays the streamer exactly one cent, no exceptions. 100 Bits cheered means $1.00 to you, 10,000 Bits means $100. Bits payments are also guaranteed, unlike donations through third-party tools, there's no chargeback risk once a viewer cheers.
It happens earlier in the chain, when the viewer purchases Bits, not when you receive them. Twitch sells Bits in bundles at a markup over the $0.01-per-bit value streamers receive, industry estimates put that markup at roughly 29-40% depending on bundle size. That's Twitch's actual revenue on Bits; from the streamer's side, every Bit received is worth the same flat cent regardless of how the viewer bought it.
If a viewer spends Bits inside a Twitch Extension (an interactive overlay), the split changes: the streamer gets 80% of the $0.01 value and the Extension's developer keeps 20%. Standard chat cheering isn't affected by this.
